If you are behind a firewall or a NAT router, you can configure your connection type through the Connection Settings option. BeInSync’s core synchronization functionality should work without any configuration of your router; however for best performance it is recommended that you always configure your firewall or NAT router.
| 1. | Click the Connection Settings button. |
| 2. | In the dialog box check the I use a firewall or NAT Router checkbox (See firewall and NAT info for more information). |
| 3. | Incoming BeInSync Port is 5584 by default, and Incoming Web Port is 5585 by default. You should configure your router accordingly, or choose different ports. Consult firewall and NAT settings in BeInSync’s knowledgebase for more details. |
| 4. | Click OK. |
| 5. | The connection status icon on the bottom of the BeInSync should briefly change to disconnected and then back to connected. |
